Rev. Willie C Barnes

In 1977, Reverend Barnes graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. His career began in 1977 with an appointment as a Design Engineer at Martin Marietta Electronics and Missiles Systems where he worked for 15 years. While employed at Martin Marietta Corporation, Rev Barnes accepted the call to ministry in 1986. As the Lord continued to mold this young life during that time, he gave him a help meet by the name of Anita Louise Lomax. The couple are the parents of three children Lattitia, Anissa, and Antonio (deceased). He was ordained in 1987 by the late Reverend L.W. Wilson, Pastor of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church of Orlando where he served as the Associate Minister. Later that year in October, he was called to pastor Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church of Eatonville, Florida. He remained bi-vocational (Electrical Engineer and Pastor) until 1991 when he accepted the full time responsibility, where he has served for the past 27 years.
Pastor Barnes is an Honorary Deputy for the Orange County Sheriff Department. Currently, Pastor Barnes is serving as 1st Vice Moderator of the First South Florida District Association. He previously served as Chaplain for the Orlando Magic, president of African-American Council of Christian Clergy (AACCC), and president of the Baptist Ministerial Alliance of Orlando. For several years, Pastor Barnes and the Foreign Mission have traveled to South Africa to sponsor educational needs of students. Macedonia is a strong, Christ-centered church. It has both passion and compassion…essentials for Christ’s followers.
Under the leadership of Pastor Barnes; Macedonia moves forward with resolution, imagination and trust in the unchanging God. The Youth Ministry enjoys a diverse array of programs designed to nurture and promote the spiritual, social and academic development of children of all ages. Tutoring, Mentoring, Drama, Dancing, Miming, Scouting, Choirs, and other entities comprise this very innovative ministry. The Life Ministries are designed to enhance the quality of life for all adults: young, intermediate and senior. Activities include Couples, Singles, Seniors, Women’s and Men’s Ministries and Discipleship Training. Outreach Ministries expand beyond the walls of the church, addressing the needs of the homeless, hungry, incarcerated, addict, and many more. The Prison Ministry provides weekly services in county, state and federal prisons, preparing individuals for the rest of their lives. The Substance Abuse Ministry (S.A.M.) ministers to addicts and their families by providing counseling, resources and access to treatment programs. The Social Services Ministry provides food and clothing to families in some of the poorest neighborhoods in Central Florida. Pastor Barnes’ compassionate nature and his continuous unselfish, untiring outreach into the community, quickly gained him the accurate reputation of being, not only a man of God, but also a man of profound integrity.
Pastor Barnes’ vision has inspired us to trust God as he takes us from “Vision to Victory”.
