Life Ministries

Adult Performing Arts

The Adult Performing Arts Ministry believes that drama is one of the most powerful communication tools God created. We present Christian theater in its purest form. We are not speaking of entertainment here. We are referring to movement, thought, dialogue, sound, light, response, all geared toward leading an individual into the presence of God where he or she can genuinely Worship and Glorify Him. We delight in bringing biblical and current life-changing events to the stage and to the hearts of the people – for the Glory of God!

Christian Education

Christian Education Purpose Statement:
The purpose of the Christian Education Board @ MMBC is to teach, nurture, guide, equip, empower and exhort adults, youth, and children so that each of them may respond with desire, loyalty, and commitment to render their service and gifts to God in achieving the church’s mission.

To provide support and instructions in becoming a participant in the Family of Faith through spiritual development as we promote a sense of stewardship that encourages the use of time, talents, and treasures to serve God and others.

To provide avenues for ministry leaders to acquire resources (books, multi-media instruments, assistive technology devices, approved curriculums, training, workshops, conferences, seminars) to create and enhance an atmosphere and attitude to serve and for others to become servants…not praisers and worshippers only… SERVANTS.

Ministry Leader – Laverne Williams

Youth Ministry

“Carrying out what God has given”
Our mission is to minister to the youth in an effort to assist their spiritual, social, intellectual, and physical development; leading to an understanding that will strengthen their relationship with God and develop their spiritual growth within the body of Christ.

The Youth Performing Arts Ministry was the vision of a beloved member of our church family, the late Marilyn Binn. Her vision was to create an atmosphere where young people could realize their innermost talents and illustrate them in various art forms that will lift praise and worship to our Lord Jesus Christ. In doing so, it has blossomed into a ministry of many facets. As we continue Ms. Binn’s mission and vision, no one part of the youth performing ministry is more significant than any other, just as no one member of our spiritual body (the church) is more significant than any other. This principle is the foundation in which our youth grow to appreciate the talents that God places in their care to nurture, create, and blossom into tools useful to the ultimate goal, which is to lead others to Christ.

Drama Ministry – Drama enhances the child’s ability to orate and enunciate properly. Youth will also learn stage setting and fundamentals that will develop presentation skills. This foundation can/will lead to various advantages. Boys and Girls ages 9- 18 years of age.

Mime Ministry – The Mime ministry has evolved into one of today’s most popular instruments of praise. The mime ministry consists of Project 412, the Mime Girls, and Anointed Souls who are spreading their wings in ministry, ages 8-18.

Liturgical Dance Ministry – The picture of God’s grace; these young ladies praise the Lord using various dance forms. They are taught the fundamentals of choreography and interpretive dance. This ministry has grown into four separate classes ranging from ages 3 to 18.

Young Adult Ministry

The mission of YAM – Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. 1 Timothy 4:12 (King James Version)
The purpose of YAM – “Young people to infinity and beyond” Preparing young adults for the future and eternity. Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ let us go on to perfection” Hebrew 6:1

Why we meet – This is an opportunity for young adults to come
together and interact through worship, prayer, bible study, and
fellowship. By creating an open atmosphere, newly converted, as well as mature Christians share life experiences to encourage one another in their walk with God.

Intercessory Prayer

The goal of the prayer ministry at our church is to help spread and sustain a church-wide prayer movement by ministering God’s Word in ways that inspire and ignite our church body to become a house of prayer. We believe that prayer is not a ministry, but the ministry of our church.
People are used to thinking about prayer as a means of getting their personal needs met. However, we should understand prayer as a means to praise and adore God, to know Him, to come into His presence and be changed by Him. We need to learn how to pray, repent and petition God as a people.

Philadelphia Men's Ministry

The purpose of the Philadelphia Men’s Ministry of MMBC is to provide an opportunity for the men of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church to study God’s Word in the presence of other Christian men. Together the men will explore their roles and responsibilities as leaders, disciples, fathers, husbands, and brothers. The ministry operates from the scriptural perspective of building strong men through the “five-fold purpose of the church: Worship, Ministry, Evangelism, Fellowship, and Discipleship.

Helping men to become leaders not only in the church but in their communities as well through their relationship with God and their relationship with one another.
